Digital literacy is important to everyone. This video is from one of our classes where we introduced children to the basics of what computers are. This is the foundation of digital literacy. By teaching children the basics of digital literacy, we are preparing them for a future in which they will be able to use technology confidently and safely. With digital literacy, they will be able to access information, communicate with others, and express themselves creatively. We will discuss different rights to build knowledge and confidence when dealing with law enforcement.The recommended age for my classes is: 10 and up. My name is Brian Tomlin and I have been in law enforcement for 13 years. I started my journey as a police officer in Miami, FL before transferring to my current location in Austin, Tx. As a Black officer with two young daughters, I find it of the upmost importance to spread awareness of our rights especially to our Black and Brown children. I find it to be a critical time to do so, in order to attempt to create a better future for our future generation.
